Nakuru is the immediate former provincial headquarters of Rift Valley Province; it is located on the floor bed of the Great Rift Valley and is situated on the busy Nairobi-Eldoret highway. Nakuru town host some the best tourist attraction sites in the world; Lake Nakuru National park, Menengai crater, Lake elementaita, and Mt. Longonot. In addition, Nakuru is an industrial and agricultural city, thus has a very stable economic sustainability. That is why there are substantial large scale and small scale business enterprises supporting its large population of about 326,125 (2009 National census).

CAP YEI training center was proposed to be at the industrial center of the town; there is much exposure in the industrial area in terms of infrastructure, internship linkages, accessibility to professional mentor’s, field visits, field exposure visits, and job opportunities. The center initially trained youth in hospitality and automobile skills. Currently, it is training skills in Hospitality, Security, and hair dressing and beauty. Since its inception, Nakuru center has admitted and trained11 batches of youth since its inception to date. It has already enrolled 379 youth in the second phase, 243 completed training, 92.59% succeeded to be placed in jobs, 136 are in internship, and 1.65% started small businesses.
