Overall progress: CAP YEI began training of youth by establishing only one center in Buruburu. Currently, there are 26 training centers.

BEST centers: —Buruburu, Athiriver, Naivasha, Mombasa, Othaya, Thika, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, Kakamega, Dagoretti, Mikindani, Machakos, Nyahururu, Meru, Narok, and Embu. Overall, the statistics enrolled and trained in these centers were 11,804 and transition to jobs and small business start-ups at 84%.

GIZ Centers: Ukunda, Lamu, and Lodwar are in their first batch of training ad has a total enrollment of 264 youth

MSI centers: Kangemi, Kibera, Nakuru, Buruburu, Mombasa, and Ruaraka have been training cohorts. Already, 38 cohorts of 3,201 youth have been trained and graduated and 2,696 or 84% have been place in jobs and small business start-ups

Capacity Building

CAP YEI has been conducting series of capacity building training aimed at introducing the BEST model to VTCs in Kenya. This is in line with CAP YEI’s goal to integrate the BEST model into the country’s technical curriculum as a strategy to scale it up. Both phase 1 and 2 has seen capacity building training reaching 15 Counties; 60 VTCs; and 122 instructors.
