Eldoret is a town in western Kenya and the administrative center of former Uasin Gishu District of the Rift Valley Province. Now it is the head quarter of Uasin Gishu County. Lying south of the Cherangani Hills, the local elevation varies from about 2100 metres above sea level at the airport to more than 2700 metres in nearby areas (7000-9000 feet). Uasin Gishu County has a population of 894,179 while Eldoret city has a population of 289,380 according to the 2009 national census. Eldoret is currently the fastest growing city in Kenya, and currently the 5th largest in Kenya. Due to its high altitude, flat topography, and reliable rainfall, the county and city is a rich agricultural area able to sustain large supply of food for the inhabitants. In the recent years, Eldoret has grown to be a hub for world class athletes and higher education institutions.

CAP YEI established a replication center in Eldoret and is located at the Eldoret Youth Polytechnic. This center is at the Kipkaren suburban are of Eldoret town. The establishment of this replication center was based on the excellent performance of the Othaya replication center. Eldoret replication center at the Eldoret VTC was deliberately situated not only because of its strategic ease of access to youth from the Langas, Pioneer, Huruma, and the entire Eldoret town, but also to complement the existing youth polytechnic curriculum portfolio. Eldoret center has admitted and trained11 batches of youth since its inception to date. It has already enrolled 231 youth in the second phase, 145 completed training, 86.90% succeeded to be placed in jobs, 84 are in internship, and 4.14% started small businesses.
