Project Brief

A partnership between CAP YEI, GIZ, and Lakehub Incubation sought to target youths who are actively involved in Poultry, Apiculture, Groundnuts and Passion fruits and offer them training that can enhance their capacity.

Expected Outcomes

The intended outcomes for this project are:

  • To explore existing and potential entry level livelihood profiles within the beneficiaries’ current business models
  • To understand where their current opportunities lie and establish demand and supply in the agribusiness value chain.
  • To identify the skill sets, competencies, and innovativeness needed for various entry level profiles
  • To understand the current status of the target group: their aspirations, existing opportunities, strengths, and the entrepreneurial opportunities within their operational areas/county.

Achievements

  • At least 610 youths applied for the program, where 30 of them were selected for interviews, with 15 being successfully enrolled for Cohort 1.

  • Cohort 1 phase 1 of life skills induction program started immediately at Lakehub Kisumu on 29th  November 2022 and it is expected to end on 28th February 2023.
