Mr. Ndung’u Kahihu has more than 25 years of experience in international development, specializing in youth development and leadership as well as program development and management. This has included designing a training curriculum including life skills, career guidance, and counseling for many years. This work has also included adolescent reproductive health and leadership acquired through progressively challenging appointments with different organizations. Key areas of expertise include TVET, Training and CurriculumDesign, ProgramDevelopment and Management, and Organizational Development/Strategic Planning.
Before joining CAP YEI as Executive Director, Mr. Kahihu worked in many countries and with many international development agencies, including the Kenya Scouts Association, Canadian Crossroads International, Save the Children, and Plan International. Mr. Ndung’u holds a Bachelor of Education (B: Ed): from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya (1985 -1988), a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Development: (MS MOD): United States International University (USIU, Nairobi Kenya) (1992 – 1995) and a Master of Arts in Population and Development (MA): University of Nairobi, Kenya (1995 – 2000).
He also has a UNFPA Diploma Certificate Course: PopulationInformation Education and Communication, (Nairobi, 1992) and Strategy Development: HIV/AIDS HumanSexuality and Program Planning (International Certificate Course offered by the Margaret Sanger Center of thePlanned Parenthood of New York City): (New York, 1993).
