The Kenyan economy is expanding with the World Bank prospecting a growth of 5.9% in 2016. The population has also grown with current figures standing above 42 million. This has led to rise in the need of air conditioning products as well as refrigeration.
The real estate industry in Kenya is also booming which is translating to increase in the demand of air conditioners. The rise in the number of consumers for these products has also led to growth in job opportunities in this sector.
CAP Youth Empowernment Institute conducted a market research on the opportunities available in this sector and its sustainability. The research showed there was need to train students and equip them with technical skills in air conditioning and refrigeration. Furthermore, the Kenyan market needs skilled manpower who can perform installation, repair and maintenance and servicing of the appliances. This informs the vision that saw CAP YEI venture into Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
