John Kadongo, 27- Hospitality and Tourism
John, now a poultry farmer, took his course in hospitality and tourism from Ukunda Vocational Training Center in Kwale County. Despite taking the hospitality course, John says he thrives better as a farmer; from the entrepreneurship skills he learned during his training he is able to run his poultry farming business efficiently.
Currently, John has over seven hundred birds and a hatchery; he collects and sells eggs every day to community members, hotels, schools, and hospitals. He is relied on as a trusted supplier of chicken in the hotels within his locality. He says that he keeps his books and records clear and better with the skills gained during training; he opened a business bank account and manages it better. From the experience through the Go Blue training, she learned the discipline of business.
He thanks Go Blue and CAP YEI for uplifting the youth in Kwale and enabling them to have better lives and futures.
