Jackson Kazungu, 28- Maritime Security

From Voi, Taita Taveta County, Jackson had been looking for a way to make a livelihood for himself and his family. Jackson 28, always wanted to have a career or skill to help him support his family, which was languishing in poverty, when he heard about the Go Blue project from a friend, he went to inquire more about it at the Voi Vocational Training Center. He registered for the Maritime security course, which he felt was best for him.

Now employed by Total Security, and stationed at Post Bank Voi branch, Kazungu is grateful for the milestones he has achieved. He is now able to provide for his family, and himself. His favorite course during the training was life skills; it helped him curb his shyness and is now able to speak with people, handle customer service, and respond to inquiries from customers without fear; he gained confidence through the life skills course.

Kazungu emphasizes that he has bigger plans, and is proud to be an independent individual who does not beg from people to survive. He has urged the youth to look out for projects like the Go Blue project and join them. “Personally, the project changed my life, I am proud of who I am now. Thank you Go Blue, and please give more opportunities to other young people.”
